INTRODUCING

Carolyn Armstrong

Carolyn completed her training as a Kindergarten Teacher in 1997 and has worked with children and families for over 30 years. She has extensive experience in a variety of Early Intervention and Parent Support programs. After having a family of her own, Carolyn trained to be a Teacher of the Deaf (2012). Registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) and the Australian Association for Teachers of the Deaf (AATD), Carolyn also developed a passion for Wellbeing and Art, and completed training in Art and Community Development (2020). Carolyn is passionate about building relationships within a family centred practice framework, supporting children and families to make decisions to reach their own goals.

  • Supporting and guiding parents through their NDIS journey.

understanding deaf education

  • Supporting and guiding families of deaf and hard of hearing children in understanding and making informed choices.
  • Empowering parents to be strong advocates for their children.

Developing speech and language skills

  • Supporting the acquistion of speech and language for all children through play based intervention.
  • Implementation of assessments (0-3 years) and referral to speech pathologists available.

  • Connecting with others, building relationships and giving children time to feel comfortable in a safe place.
  • Developing social skills and encouraging a sense of belonging.
  • Coming together to explore art within a culture of encouragement.

Wellbeing Groups

The Wellbeing groups invite people from three years old to come together with others who enjoy art and connecting with their peers. Groups of four to six people of similar age are encouraged to join programs on a termly basis with the aims of learning together, building relationships, encouraging one another and having fun with art and other interests.
